Police plea over fatal crash

Police investigating a fatal crash at Wonthella last week have renewed a public appeal for information.

A 14-year-old Spalding boy died as a result of injuries when a white Honda motorcycle and a green Jeep Cherokee collided at the intersection of Eighth Street and North West Coastal Highway about 8pm on January 24.

The boy was a pillion passenger on the motorcycle.

A 17-year-old Geraldton boy who was riding the motorcycle was treated at Geraldton Hospital for serious injuries and has since been discharged.

A 22-year-old man who was driving the Jeep was not injured.

Major Crash Investigators want to speak with anyone who saw the motorcycle in the Geraldton or Wonthella area between 7.30pm and 8pm on the day of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the motorcycle or Jeep before the incident are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 on report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
