Police release name of fatal crash victim

Police have released the name of a Mullewa woman who tragically died after two cars collided near Dongara on Saturday.

She was Patricia May Slater, 28, a passenger in a Peugeot 206 convertible involved in the crash.

Police have charged the driver of the Peugeot, a 28-year-old Swan View man, with dangerous driving occasioning death and two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on May 5.

Police said the Peugeot and a Ford Territory SUV collided about 6.30am on Brand Highway at Yardarino, near the Kailis Road turn-off.

Ms Slater, 28, was treated at the scene and airlifted to Geraldton Regional Hospital but died from her injuries.

The Peugeot driver and the occupants of the Ford — a female and a male — suffered minor injuries.

Police said Ms Slater’s next-of-kin had been notified.
