Police seek witnesses after double robbery weekend

Police are currently seeking witnesses for a pair of robbery offences that took place in Geraldton over last weekend.

On Saturday, March 25, around 10pm the first victim was walking along McAleer Drive near Benledi Way in Mahomets Flats when four males who looked to be in their late teens or early twenties approached him.

One of the perpetrators is alleged to have threatened the victim, while another of the men stole the victim’s wallet from his backpack.

The second incident occurred the following night, Sunday March 26, around 7.30pm.

In this instance another victim was walking down Durlacher Street, near Waverly Street in Geraldton.

The victim was allegedly punched in the head from behind, and when he turned around to see his attacker was punched several more times to the head by the male attacker.

The attack was severe enough to cause the victim to momentarily lose consciousness and collapse.

It’s further alleged that upon waking the victim noticed money had been taken from his pocket.

The offender is described as approximately 18 years old, male, of slim build and wearing a dark hoodie and track pants.
