Preliminary works to start next week as part of $1.1m program to resurface, reseal 16km of Geraldton roads

Road works will start next week as part of a $1.1 million initiative to resurface or reseal 16km of local roads. The City of Greater Geraldton has advised that preliminary works will begin the week starting Monday, February 12 on Goulds Road, at the southern end adjacent to Iluka Resources in Narngulu. Works on Flored Road will start the week commencing Monday, February 19, at the southern end adjacent to Geraldton Golf Club in Wonthella. Then on the week starting Tuesday, March 5, work will begin on Place Road, on eastbound lanes only from Central Road to Selby Place in Wonthella. The work will take about six weeks to complete and are valued at $1.1 million. Two-thirds has been funded by the State Government’s Regional Road Group Program, with funding also coming from the City’s 2023-24 Road Renewal Program. Anticipated hours of work are 6am to 6pm and will involve road shoulder treatment work to prepare the roads for resurfacing. “Traffic management will be in place during this time. Members of the community are requested to exercise caution and obey all warning signs and directions from authorised City personnel and contractors,” the City said. “The City appreciates your patience while these works are being completed.”
