Two Perth men accused of sexually assaulting a woman on the Geraldton foreshore last year have had their bail renewed until the end of August.

Appearing before the Geraldton District Court on Wednesday via video link, Chamkaur Singh, 34, and Pritpal Singh, 35, were granted extended bail with strict conditions at a trial listing hearing.

In April 2025, Chamkaur Singh and Pritpal Singh allegedly raped a woman on a Geraldton beach.

The pair were each charged with one count of aggravated sexual penetration without consent.

Their bail was extended until August 31, when the pair and their counsel would be due to reappear before the Geraldton District Court for a special hearing to determine a trial date.

A potential five-day trial was agreed to by both the prosecution and defence as “satisfactory”, but the proposed trial start date of November 9, 2026, was left undecided.

The upcoming special hearing would run for two days from Monday, August 31, to Tuesday, September 1.

In September last year, Pritpal Singh pleaded not guilty to the charge of aggravated sexual assault without consent.

Chamkaur Singh followed suit in December 2025, also pleading not guilty.

The Piara Waters men were charged after allegedly leading a woman from the Foreshore Hangout Lounge to the beach and sexually assaulting her between 11.50pm on Friday, April 4 and 12.40am on Saturday, April 5.

Witnesses of the alleged sexual assault ran to the Geraldton police station, leading to the men being arrested and charged soon after.

At the trial listing hearing on Wednesday, the prosecution noted the aggravated sexual penetration without consent charges were to be discontinued against both Chamkaur Singh and Pritpal Singh.

Instead, Pritpal Singh will stand on trial for one count of sexual penetration without consent and Chamkaur Singh will stand on trial for two counts of sexual penetration without consent.
