Record cold snap

Geraldton shivered through its coldest August morning on record last week.

The temperature plunged to 2.4C at 2.43am on Thursday, eclipsing the previous lowest August temperature of 2.9C in 2012.

The lowest overnight temperature recorded at the Bureau of Meteorology’s Geraldton office was 1.8C in July 2012.
