Riders battle track and weather in round 5 of Geraldton Motocross action

Last Sunday saw close to 70 riders turn out for the Geraldton Motocross circuit as round five of the club series presented mixed weather and erratic track conditions that proved testing for some. All riders performed well with stand-out performances on the day from A-grade’s Seth Patience and C-grade’s Levi Horsham — both competitors showing great skills and some impressive form. The fast track and tricky conditions ensured riders had to be on top of their game, with some riders improving as the laps ticked away. In the 65cc class local Toby Edmonds took home his best result of the season finishing an overall second place while fresh from his State Championship. Third-placed young gun Angus Fay also showed he will be the one to beat leading into the last club round of the 2022 season. Race organiser and Geraldton Motorcross official Corey Leigh was pleased with how the season was progressing this year. “The season is flying along as we head into our final four events of the 2022 calendar,” he said. This weekend round 2 of the tri-series gets under way down in Noble Falls, with several riders from Geraldton looking to represent the club.
