Rock pelting in Rangeway won’t be tolerated

Three more children were caught throwing rocks at the weekend, with a Rangeway local saying she believes the problem has been happening for more than a decade. Last week, The Geraldton Guardian revealed the extent of this issue with six incidents reported to police in one day on November 15, including rocks and golf balls being thrown at a group with special needs. I’d say it happens at least once a fortnight all year round. I’ve heard stories of near-accidents as cars are hit while driving.” Ms Bull said the association had been working with the City of Greater Geraldton, schools, businesses and Western Power to cut back trees and increase street lights to take away hiding spots. We’re just trying to do what we can as a community to prevent this from happening,” she said. “There’s a real concern someone will get badly hurt.” The three children were given a juvenile caution by Geraldton police over the rock-throwing incident in Rangeway on Saturday. “Please keep calling and reporting any suspicious activity to police,” a police spokesman said.
