Royal Australian Air Force retiree captures stunning Geraldton City scenes while visiting family for Christmas

This week’s picture was sent through by a registered drone pilot visiting family from Geraldton after moving over east in the 1980s. Doc Baldwin grew up in Geraldton but has lived in Canberra for many years, working as a drone pilot for the Royal Australian Air Force. He holds a remotely piloted aircraft operator’s certificate which permits him to capture footage wherever he goes. “I left Geraldton and joined the RAAF as an armament fitter on the F/A-18 Hornet in the early 80s,” he said. “I started a business called Zone 3 Laser Tag in Canberra with my wife Sally.” Mr Baldwin is now retired and says capturing stunning imagery is what keeps him sane. He said he couldn’t help but take a snap of the landscape while he was on holiday visiting his mother, sister, brother, nieces and nephews in Geraldton. “Our two sons are back in Canberra looking after our two fur babies,” he said.
