A Perth-based running club has given about 100 pairs of used running shoes to Aboriginal children in Geraldton and the Mid West.

West Australian Marathon Club members donated their old runners to the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health and the Geraldton Sporting Aboriginal Corporation.

The corporation has already handed out sneakers to children without proper sports shoes at Mitchell Street Community Centre, Bluff Point Primary School, local basketball clubs for people under 17, and netball players at Mullewa District High School.

Readers who wish to donate unused sporting equipment in good condition should contact the WACRH on 9956 0200.
