Madison and Dean Cooper created a quirky piece of Geraldton Universities Centre history when they recently became the first siblings to graduate in the same year.

The pair left school with a nursing and engineering degree under their belts, along with other graduates.

The GUC graduates are now qualified to work in fields including social work, emergency and disaster management, teaching and environmental science.

During the ceremony, the centre highlighted the achievement of accounting graduate Margot Adam, who was awarded the prestigious School of Business and Law Medal, constituting the second time in three years a GUC student has earned the accolade.
