Six charged in Geraldton police crackdown

Six people were charged yesterday after Geraldton Police called in the Police Air Wing to help lead a crackdown on people wanted over burglaries and breaches of bail.

Police said the Air Wing was involved so it could assist officers if any of the suspects tried to flee.

A 16-year-old Rangeway boy was charged over an alleged burglary at the Burringurah Community Health Clinic in which police say he stole a patient transfer vehicle, sometime in December.

He was also charged with breach of bail relating to several other burglaries.

A 13-year-old Rangeway boy was charged with breach of bail relating to the alleged burglary of a Mount Tarcoola home in which police say he stole multiple items including jewellery.

A 46-year-old Meekatharra woman was charged over the burglary of a Mahomets Flats home in which she allegedly stole various items.

Police allege the woman’s fingerprints matched those found at the scene of the burglary.

A 26-year-old Rangeway man was charged with breach of bail relating to traffic matters.

A 26-year-old Rangeway woman was charged with breach of bail after she failed to attend court over stealing charges.

A 22-year-old Beachlands man also received a court fine for breaching a supervision order.

The two youths will face Geraldton Children’s Court today, while the four adults will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court today.
