State Election 2021: Liberals candidate and small business owner Rob Dines vows to ‘fight for Geraldton’

Geraldton businessman Rob Dines is the WA Liberals’ candidate for the seat of Geraldton in the 2021 State election. “I have the passion and energy to fight for our local community in State Parliament,” the small business owner said. “My family has been running our local Geraldton business for more than 30 years. “We’re proud of our hard work and the service we provide to our customers.” Mr Dines said he had lived and worked in Geraldton for his whole life, and he and his wife Sheree could not imagine raising their family anywhere else. Sheree Dines is employed in Member for Durack Melissa Price’s Geraldton electorate office. Mr Dines weighed in early with some policy positions. “I’ve already heard many people say that they want more local police to make our streets and suburbs safer, help dealing with the cost of living and support for local small businesses,” he said. “As part of Liza Harvey’s Liberal team, I’ll tackle Mark McGowan’s unfair $850 per year increase to household bills, support local businesses to create jobs and fight for more police.” Mr Dines said Premier Mark McGowan had let families in regional WA down. “They are feeling the stress of his unfair $850 per year bill increases and are disappointed by the lack of a plan for local jobs and the people of Geraldton,” Mr Dines said. “As a local I’ve got a pretty good idea about the issues affecting our great city. “But from now until the election I’ll be out listening to our community to understand what matters to other locals and families.” WA Liberal Leader Liza Harvey said Mr Dines had her support. “I’m looking forward to working with Rob to earn the trust of the residents of Geraldton and to share our plan for a better Government and a better future for WA.” she said. The Liberal Party has also endorsed Wickepin farmer Steve Martin, Geraldton town planner Kathryn Jackson and former Dalwallinu farmer Jim Chown as its team for the Agricultural Region in the Legislative Council. The Agricultural Region extends from Northampton to Esperance and includes Geraldton.
