Geraldton police are investigating after a stolen car was found ablaze in Rangeway in the early hours of Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene at Levy Street Park about 4am on April 30, finding a car in the centre of the park engulfed in flames.

Geraldton police operations manager Sgt Steve Beswick said the vehicle was stolen in a series of burglaries that occurred earlier the same night in Bluff Point.

He said a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were facing multiple aggravated home burglary and stealing charges and would appear in court this month.

“Inquiries are continuing, but at this stage there is no suggestion that those alleged to have stolen the motor vehicle have deliberately set the vehicle on fire,” he said.
