Superyacht saga remains in a stalemate as vessel still moored at service jetty in Dongara

A superyacht exceeding the limit for the Port Denison Boat Harbour has not moved from the Department of Transport’s service jetty since the owner last week claimed he would move the vessel “soon”. The department confirmed late on Thursday the luxury 2003-built, 80-tonne Azure II yacht moored at a commercial jetty in Dongara had not moved on after officers were told it would be moved at the beginning of the week. It is understood the vessel is a hazard at the current location. Despite exceeding the boat limit for the harbour, the vessel moored next to the department-run service jetty in early February after it became grounded on a shallow reef in January. An anchor was removed and the vessel has been at the jetty since until repairs are complete. The owner, local farmer John Grove, was contacted for comment.
