Whether your kids would be into making slime or magic potions, playing soccer or Dungeons and Dragons, stretching it out with yoga or going stand-up paddleboarding, diving into arts and crafts or learning about science, there is something for every little person — and every parent — these summer holidays.

The City of Greater Geraldton has released its school holiday program and there is a wealth of options for kids of all ages, many of which are free.

Mayor Shane Van Styn said the program had become a popular holiday resource for both kids and parents

“(It) is always bursting with fresh new events for kids to try, and the summer 2021-22 edition is no different,” he said.

“Thanks to the tireless work of so many fantastic local organisations, we have been able to add more variety than ever before to the list and I hope locals and visitors alike have a great time taking part.”

Events such as soccer and wheelchair basketball clinics, Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, cupcake classes and succulent plant workshops are all making a return.

New additions to this summer’s program include a low tox potion party, slime workshops, Amazing Race team challenges and fireworks origami workshops.

Films on the Foreshore is back, with three family-friendly offerings — Madagascar on Friday, January 7, Alexander and the Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day on Friday, January 14 and Bedtime Stories on Friday, January 21.

A special opportunity is open to everyone to work on a community mural, which will be revealed at a family fun day.

Geraldton Regional Art Gallery and the Scrapbook House have a variety of crafting activities available during the holidays.
