A trio of hilarious mothers will have Geraldton laughing off their seats with a comedy night full of the ins, outs, ups and downs of relationships and parenting after returning from their NSW tour.

Becoming a mother can be somewhat challenging and far from funny, which is why The Motherhood will lighten the mood on Saturday, July 2, at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre with Living The Dream.

The trio comprises Perth comedians Emma Krause (mum of twins), Simone Springer (FIFO wife) and Jodie Lawrence ‘Pony’ (divorced diva), who won the 2020 Weekly Award for comedy at Perth’s Fringe Show.

Last year, Motherhood Comedy presented Surviving the Circus at the Old Man And The Sea. This year the kids have grown up, so the group will reveal the messy truth of teenagers and school holidays.

Pony said things were constantly changing for them, which meant the show did too.

She said the show would have a similar format with individual sets and music, but with new material.

“Basically this one, our kids have got older, so we’re looking at material about teenagers, COVID lockdowns with your husband, vasectomies and having to go camping with the family,” she said.

“A few of the members are divorced, so we will talk about getting back on the market and using Tinder. I’ve been together with my partner for 21 years, so there will be talk about keeping the magic alive.

“We’ve got our wine hands ready. The event welcomes anyone who has ever had a child or looked after one.”
