Three face court after alleged Wandina armed robbery, elderly hand over cash in home invasion

Geraldton detectives have charged a third person after an elderly couple was confronted in an alleged armed robbery in their Wandina home last month. About 4.30am on Sunday, January 28, detectives allege four people broke into a home in Wandina while a 76-year-old woman and 80-year-old man were sleeping. Detectives allege that during the confrontation, the accused demanded money and threatened they had a machete. About $200 cash was taken from the home. Two people, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and charged early last week, while a third accused, a 20-year-old man, was arrested later in the week. All three are charged with armed robbery and the 17-year-old was due in the Geraldton Children’s Court on Monday. The 18-year-old is due to appear in the Geraldton Magistrates Court on Monday, February 12 and the 20-year-old is set to face court on Thursday, March 14.
