Three Geraldton locals showcase talent in Perth Boxing WA Card

Three boxers from Peacock’s Gym in Geraldton have stepped into the ring at the Croatian Club in Perth. Eric Kyanga, Kyson Crudeli, and Bryan Clinch each showcased their skills and determination in the latest Boxing WA card on August 26. In the open youth division, Kyanga squared off against Alex Pennefather from Champions Gym in Perth. Kyanga dominated all three rounds, his precision and ring intelligence secured him a decisive victory. Crudeli entered the ring in the junior novice division, where he faced off against Eduardo Hawkins from Dennings Boxing Club in Perth. Crudeli’s performance showed off his footwork and a well-timed jab to secure a clear advantage. Displaying veteran-like finesse, Crudeli swept all three rounds, underscoring his potential for a promising boxing career that lies ahead. Clinch was put to the test, as he went head-to-head against Bruce Basilo from Endorphin Gym. Despite being in only his first fight after six months of training, Clinch exhibited commendable head movement and a strong start. The bout took an arduous turn with a couple of standing eight counts in the second and third rounds, however, the referee’s intervention in the third round, brought the match to a close. His coach, Jake Peacock, was immensely proud of his student. “Bryan fought with real grit from the first bell and can only learn from this experience,” he said. Crudeli’s fight included a closely contested first round, with both boxers displaying impressive skill. However, Crudeli’s cleaner shots likely tilted the balance in his favour. In the second round, Crudeli’s use of his southpaw stance and straight left gave him an edge, ultimately winning him the round. Despite a strong showing from his opponent in the third round, Crudeli’s consistent performance secured unanimous favour from the judges. As they return to their training routines, these three boxers are already setting their sights on the upcoming Wintersun Wars 3 event, scheduled to unfold at the QPT in late September in Geraldton.
