Geraldton police seized three vehicles and laid a number of charges this week after stopping 193 motorists at a vehicle control point on Utakarra Road in Karloo.

Officers shut down part of Utakarra Road on Tuesday to conduct licence and vehicle checks and to seek offenders with outstanding warrants.

A 34-year-old Beachlands man had his Ford utility seized after he was allegedly caught driving with a suspended licence at about 8.30am.

About two hours later a 36-year-old Utakarra man had his Mitsubishi Pajero seized when he was also allegedly caught driving with a suspended licence.

Both men were charged with driving with a suspended licence and will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.

The seizures came just a day after a 24-year-old Spalding man had his Holden Calais seized when he was allegedly caught driving with a suspended licence at more than 45km/h over the speed limit in Utakarra.

He was charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended licence.

He will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
