Two Geraldton stars featured last weekend for the WAFLW State team in their clash against South Australia’s SANFLW, with WA just going down narrowly to a well-drilled SA outfit.

Former GNWFL stars —Northampton’s Tiani Teakle and Railways’ Fina Dethlefsen — took centrestage in the clash against South Australia at Adelaide Oval last Saturday.

While the WA girls went down, the two Mid West stars did their bit in the narrow loss with Dethlefsen amassing four disposals and a goal, with Teakle collecting six disposals.

Wayward kicking on goal led to the demise of WA with South Australia pouncing on their opportunities with the final score reading, 6.5 (41) to 4.9 (33).

The pair have been performing nicely in the WAFLW in Perth, with Teakle impressing for East Fremantle in the back pocket, averaging just over seven disposals in the three games that she has played this season.

Dethlefsen has been shining for Perth in the midfield and forward line averaging a touch over 19 disposals with an impressive three-goal bag in round four against East Perth.

The 21-year-olds will return to the WAFLW, competing for East Fremantle and Perth, as they enter round six of the competition with both the Sharks and the Demons sitting pretty in the top four.
