Towns junior cricketers are on top of the world after recent grand final victories in the Kookaburra Sports Geraldton Junior Cricket Association.

First up was a win in the under-14s grand final against a brave Wanderers/Chapman Valley-Northampton at Muir Park.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, WCVN were in dire straits early on, as man of the match Toby Keeffe took control, nabbing three quick wickets, including the prized wicket of Kade Gillingham.

To their credit, WCVN batted out their allocated 30 overs, although it appeared a target of 80 was well within Towns’ grasp.

Aside from Jaxon Luff falling in the first over, Towns appeared to be cruising for victory, before a mini collapse halfway through the innings saw Xander Lindberg, Thomas Mackay and Callum Marquis depart.

But despite being stoically pushed in their pursuit of glory, Koby Rouse (21 not out) saw his teammates home, with Towns finishing on 6-80.

Towns then continued the winning streak at Wonthella Oval, with the under-17s cruising to a 51-run victory over Wanderers.
