Traffic stop leads to stolen car charge
A routine traffic stop has led to Jurien Bay police charging a 43-year-old Geraldton man over the theft of a Ford Focus in an alleged burglary in West Perth.
Police said the man was driving a Ford Focus when he was stopped for speeding about 7pm Thursday night on Indian Ocean Drive, Jurien Bay.
After running checks, officers realised the car had been reported stolen two days earlier.
The man was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and will face court at a later date.
Police said inquiries into the alleged burglary were ongoing.
