A former boxing coach was back in court this week after allegedly working with kids without a valid Working With Children Check.

Justin James Crudeli, right, appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court yesterday and maintained pleas of not guilty to two charges of working with minors without having a valid permit. The charges, allegedly committed between June 10 and July 23 last year, were laid by the Department of Communities.

Magistrate Nicholas Lemmon listed the matter for a one-day trial on December 6, with at least five witnesses to give evidence.

Mr Crudeli coached at Geraldton PCYC Boxing Club and volunteered with Rovers Football Club as coach and umpire for juniors.

He was stood down from his role at the PCYC after being accused of twice sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, but was acquitted of those charges last month.
