Three of Geraldton’s best young stars are closing in on State representation after making it to the final trials for the under-13s State squad.

After successful junior club championships earlier this month which saw three top-three finishes for the five teams sent down and a title for the boys’ 11/12 side, several players nominated for State trials.

Three have made it to the final trial and, should they be successful, will earn their place on the State team.

Reuben Boonzaier has made the final cut for the boys’ squad, while Leah-May Labuschagne, who made the squad last year, and Lilah Beaver, are in the final women’s round.

The final trials will take place on Sunday, July 30, and should the local trio clear the final hurdle, they will represent WA at the Under-13s National Championships in Newcastle, NSW from September 23-29.
