Two girls who stole a pizza delivery car and took it for a joy ride have pleaded guilty in Geraldton Children’s Court, joining another girl who accepted responsibility last week. The three had taken the Toyota Corolla on May 10 when the driver left the keys in the ignition while making the delivery in Rangeway, and took it for a joy ride in which they hit speeds of 100 km/h. The 15-year-olds recorded their acts on Snapchat, and their phones were taken by police as evidence. Their joy ride ended when they were arrested by police at a service station. Last week police prosecutor Senior Constable Paul White said one of the girls had screamed at members of the public and “made several racist remarks”. Both girls were referred to the juvenile justice team for counselling when they appeared in court on May 16.
