Two women knifed outside Utakarra party
A 22-year-old Rangeway woman has been charged over the alleged stabbing of two women outside a 21st birthday party in Utakarra early on Saturday morning.
Police said revellers were gathered outside the party on Abraham Street when a fight broke out about 3am.
During the fracas the accused allegedly knifed a 26-year-old Beachlands woman in the arm and stabbed a 28-year-old Perth woman in the shoulder.
Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Geraldton Hospital.
A 22-year-old Rangeway woman was arrested at the scene and later charged with two counts of unlawful wounding.
She will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
In a separate incident, a man allegedly caught concealing a 20cm kitchen knife in Webberton on Sunday afternoon has been charged.
Police made the alleged find after searching two men who they said were acting suspiciously at the Homemaker Centre, about 4.30pm.
A 31-year-old Spalding man was charged with possessing a weapon and will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
