It had been almost a month since Ugle Fabrications La Fiamma completed a competitive match but they finally managed it on the weekend but ended up on the losing side.

After several home games have gone awry the Reds could at least focus on there being no possibility of a late forfeit as they travelled to take on Spearwood Dalmatinac SC.

Away trips are always tricky for the Reds but add on to the fact they are lacking match practice, through no fault of their own, facing the second-placed team was always a big ask.

But one man who was up to the challenge was Hayden Boffey, the young star completing a scintillating hat-trick to ensure there was plenty of fight in the visiting team.

Unfortunately for Boffey and the Reds it came in a losing effort as Spearwood sent five passed goalkeeper Jack Pirone, with two goals to Guilio Del Dosso, Lewis Houghton and one to Zeno Valenti.

It was very much a 2022 La Fiamma performance showing plenty in attack but coughing up just as much in defence and finding themselves on the wrong end of a shootout.

They drop to ninth on the ladder though they still have two games in hand on those around them.

The Reds stuttering season will continue with a general bye this weekend — the Reds have not managed to play consecutive games at any point so far this season.

It was no better for their reserves side who were smashed 6-0 with five Dalmatinac players getting on the scoresheet.

The result sends La Fiamma reserves side to 10th on the ladder.
