Ugle Fabrications La Fiamma’s promotion hopes have been dealt a huge blow following a 3-0 loss to Yanchep United FC on Saturday.

After a tight one nil win over Woodvale last round the Reds would have fancied themselves against the eighth-placed Yanchep to keep their hopes of promotion on track.

However, the Reds were outplayed on the night and were well beaten as striker Kori Weetch scored two goals on either side of half time to put the game well beyond reach.

Early James Hurley scored just his second goal of the season to put the Reds on the back foot before Weetch’s intervention.

It’s a loss that sees them drop to sixth on the ladder to sit nine points out of second place and promotion.

It leaves them with plenty of work to do with eight games left in the season making all games a must win from here on out in order to make it.

They next face Noranda FC at home and cannot afford to drop points against a team they should be favourites against.

The reserves suffered a heartbreaking loss in a seven-goal game 4-3.

Having trailed 2-1 at half time they managed to fight back as Bradley Davis and Shiddiq Abdul Malik scored their first goals this season.

But ultimately it wasn’t enough as Yanchep striker Charlie Belchamber scored a double having now scored 13 goals in 11 games.

It leaves the reserves sitting in 10th spot on the ladder.
