La Fiamma have obliterated Marconi 8-0 in round nine of the Midwest Soccer Association Women’s Competition.

After beating one of the top Metros team just over a week ago the step back down to the local league was a walk in the park as they put in a stunning performance.

Olivia Bidwell grabbed a hat-trick as she moves to 11 goals in seven games as her sister Charli got one herself while Maggie Keeffe scored her first goal of the season before grabbing another.

Charlotte Layton also scored a double as they moved 12 points clear at the top of the ladder having not lost a game so far.

Abrolhos got a tight one-nil win over Olympic to leapfrog the Rovers after they lost 3-1 to Chapman Valley.

With the Reds checked out at the top it’s a tight battle in the middle with Abrolhos, Chapman Valley and the Rovers all on 14 points each with the Rovers dropping down to fourth as the Vikings and Tigers locked on the same goal difference.

The two will play each other in the next round in an exciting clash while the Rovers will take on La Fiamma and Marconi will look to bounce back against the struggling Olympic.
