Geraldton residents are asked to put some cash behind local sick and special needs children, and don a fancy suit and tie while doing it.

The latest —– and biggest — fundraiser for charity Variety Midwest will be a Royal Gala on August 17 at the Queen Elizabeth II Seniors and Community Centre.

The event, at $200 a ticket, will feature an auction and raffles, with proceeds to fund support for children in need.

Organiser Jan Adjuk said it was the first time the charity had decided to raise money by hosting a formal event and she hoped the Gala would be “a night to remember”.

Lewis Canny and Jody Quadrio will provide entertainment on the night.

They are pictured here in their formal wear, practising their dance moves.
