Geraldton students will have the opportunity to learn the tips and tricks of filmmaking from a WA expert later this month when producer and assistant director Chanel Bowen holds a workshop at Champion Bay Senior High School.

The rising star has worked on projects such as Mystery Road, High Ground, Go!, RAMS, Secret Bridesmaids Business and Blueback, and collaborated with big names such as Sam Neill, Simon Baker and Frances O’Connor.

The Dunsborough local was awarded the Regional to Global Screenworks and Australians In Film internships in Los Angeles last year.

“I’m really excited to share my knowledge with the students and help them with their own filmmaking journey,” Ms Bowen said.

The workshop will go over every step of the filmmaking process, from making a script to filming and editing.

The class is presented on behalf of the Cinesnaps Short Film Competition, a competition for high school students in regional WA.

Teachers and other organisations can sign up their students at https://cinefestoz.wufoo.com/forms/zksi02q0zwd2r4.

The filmmaking workshop will be held on March 22 at Champion Bay Senior High School.
