WA Symphony Orchestra to perform in Geraldton as part of Four Seasons tour

The WA Symphony Orchestra will be playing in Geraldton in August, delighting classical music fans with famous pieces from Mozart, Beethoven and Vivaldi. Additionally, WASO will visit schools and aged care homes as part of their regional tour. WASO’s Four Seasons Tour will perform one of the world’s most famous pieces, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, which has appeared regularly in pop culture soundtracks, including in Pretty Woman to The Simpsons. The orchestra is in its second year of a three-year touring commitment. Concertmaster Laurence Jackson will perform as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, while other mainstage performances include Beethoven’s Symphony No.8 and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro: Overture. Geraldton upper-primary and secondary school students will have close-up access at a behind-the-scenes rehearsal. In November, aged-care homes and schools in Geraldton and Dongara will see string quartet performances. WASO 2022 assistant conductor Jen Winley said regional touring was a wonderful opportunity for the orchestra to share the music loved around WA. “I’m looking forward to performing this program and creating some wonderful musical experiences for the people of Geraldton and Bunbury,” she said.
