Santa will join his friends from the Waggrakine Volunteer Bushfire Brigade tomorrow night in spreading Christmas cheer to children in Geraldton.

While he doesn’t usually visit until December 25, Father Christmas will be in town early for the brigade’s inaugural Santa Community Run.

“Santa will be with us on board the truck and we’ll be handing out lollies, saying g’day and all that,” event coordinator and volunteer firefighter Jack Milby said.

The run will start at 5.30pm, passing through Waggrakine, Moresby, Sunset Beach and Drummond Cove.

“We haven’t really done a kid-focussed event before, but we do have a cadet unit and they always mingle with the kids,” Mr Milby said.

“Hopefully it will attract a lot of faces. Everyone loves Santa.”

Mr Milby reminded residents to stay fire safe over the holidays and keep up to date with bushfire warnings.
