Weapon allegedly fired in Rangeway
A 29-year-old man has been charged after a firearm was allegedly discharged in a Rangeway street last night.
Geraldton Police Station operations manager, Sergeant Drue Pardoe, said the incident happened after an argument broke out between a group of people and the occupants of a Crabbe Street property about 6.45pm.
As the group left the property in a Holden Commodore, witnesses reported hearing a possible gunshot coming from the vehicle.
Sgt Pardoe said police later attended a property on Pearson Street, Mount Tarcoola, where they allegedly found a man trying to escape over the back fence into a neighbour’s yard.
Officers also detained two other people in the back yard and located “several items of interest” at the property.
A 29-year-old Drummond Cove man was charged with going armed to cause fear and refused bail.
Police also charged a 27-year-old Mount Tarcoola man with drug-related offences.
Both will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court.
