What I See with Peter Fiorenza: The mystery of a man’s proud work that went missing

Sometimes the strangest things happen. The other day, good friend, Warren Kalajzich told me a fascinating tale. Warren has always been an active member of the local Catholic community and in his years of retirement, he gives a deal of his spare time. This includes assisting in organising functions, fundraising, you know, just helping things tick along. In recent times, the church has decided to sell off some of its properties in the region that are no longer in use. One of these is the church building in Yuna. Apparently, due to the dwindle in numbers living in the area, the diocese has decided to put it on the market. Maybe, someone might like to convert the building into a unique home? So, Mr Kalajzich, who was once a well-known realter in town, took it upon himself to create the For Sale sign to be placed on the property. Now, For Sale signs, as you can imagine, are a big deal for Warren and he and one of his mates put quite a deal of effort into creating one. According to Warren, as far as For Sale signs go, this one was right up there with the best of them. Tickled pink with their handy work, Warren and his mate travelled all the way out to the property and proudly erected the sign. The men returned to Geraldton that afternoon, satisfied that their sign would, definitely, do the job. About a week later, while checking out the wildflowers in the district, Warren decided he would make his way across to Yuna. He was keen to show off his proud handy work to his partner, who was along for the ride. As they got closer to the location, they noticed that there was no sign erected on the property. “That’s interesting, thought Warren. “Maybe, someone has moved it?” But further investigation confirmed there was no sign to be seen anywhere. “I can’t believe this, where is the bloody thing?” After asking around, still no luck, Warren’s prized piece of artwork had, simply, vanished into thin air. Weeks on, and we are no closer to solving the mystery of the missing For Sale sign from Yuna.
