A Geraldton man who rammed his ex-partner’s vehicle off the road has been sentenced to three months jail for the brazen act.

Winmar Parri appeared via video link in Geraldton Magistrates court on Thursday for sentencing on charges of reckless driving, stealing, breach of protective bail, using an unlicensed vehicle on a road and four counts of no authority to drive.

The court was told on July 2, 2021 Parri was driving a Ford Territory and began following his ex-partner’s Toyota Hilux.

The 19-year-old man drove his vehicle into back of the victim’s vehicle, causing her to panic and drive off.

Parri located the Hilux in Spalding, drove into the car park and rammed the victim as they began to turn left on to Green Street.

The victim then lost control of the car, which had four passengers in it, before spinning out to face the other direction.

He was sighted by police, arrested in Sunset Beach and made admissions in custody.

Magistrate Angus Hockton said the driving was particularly dangerous and warranted an immediate term of imprisonment.

Mr Hockton sentenced Parri to three months behind bars. He also received a fine of $600 for the stealing offence.
