Detectives have charged a woman with armed robbery in relation to an alleged assault on a pregnant sales assistant in Geraldton.

Police allege the sales assistant was threatened with a syringe inside the Marine Terrace surf shop after she confronted two shoplifters on Tuesday.

It is then alleged the sales assistant was punched in the throat when she followed the pair outside.

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with robbery when armed in circumstances of aggravation.

She will appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court this morning.

In an unrelated incident, police said four vehicles were stolen last week in a series of burglaries committed by three “particularly brazen” offenders.

Two juveniles have since been apprehended in relation to the incident.
