Woman charged over high-speed pursuit

A Perth woman has been charged following a high-speed pursuit on Brand Highway between Geraldton and Dongara today.

Police said the pursuit, involving three police vehicles and an allegedly stolen Mitsubishi station sedan lasted for about an hour, from 11.45am to about 12.45pm.

In that time, the driver allegedly reached speeds of up to 160 km/h before the chase ended on Nangetty-Walkaway Road, Walkaway.

A 22-year-old woman has been charged with reckless driving to evade police, failing to stop and driving without a licence due to suspension.

She is expected to face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
