Woman taken to hospital after collision on Brand Highway near Geraldton

An elderly woman was taken to hospital following a car collision in Cape Burney this morning.

The crash between two silver sedans occurred at the intersection of Rudds Gully Road and Brand Highway around 8.20am.

Emergency services attended the scene shortly after, with crews from the Geraldton Fire and Rescue Service and Geraldton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service extracting the injured woman who was trapped in the wreckage.

St John Ambulance Mid West regional manager Kevin Blake said ambulance personnel attended the scene and conveyed an injured 67 year-old woman to Geraldton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Geraldton Hospital spokesperson confirmed the woman had been admitted and was in a stable condition.
