A 21-year-old woman who fled the scene of a high speed pursuit with 165.41 grams of high grade methylamphetamine and cash in a backpack has been jailed.

Crystal Godfrey pleaded guilty in Geraldton’s District Court today to possessing methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply and possession of unlawfully obtained property.

About 7.15pm on October 15, 2016, Godfrey was the passenger of a vehicle involved in a high speed pursuit along North West Coastal Highway.

When the vehicle stopped between Geraldton and Northampton, Godfrey exited and fled into surrounding bushland.

She was found a short time later by police, who after a search of her backpack found more than $60,000 in cash, documents and 165.41 grams of methylamphetamine, with a street value of more than $160,000.

She was given a backdated sentence of 17 months and made eligible for parole.

A co-accused male is expected to appear before the court at a later date.
