A 41-year-old Spalding man has been charged after he allegedly attacked a female staff member with a knife at a church-operated crisis accommodation centre in Geraldton yesterday.

Police said the attack happened about 3.30pm after the woman asked the man to leave Sun City Christian Centre’s supported accommodation centre in Assen Street, Karloo.

She was treated at Geraldton Hospital and received stitches for a small cut to her face.

The man was arrested at the scene and charged with acts or omissions causing bodily harm.

He will appear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court today.
