Graham Pearce, Jeanette Elliott, Ian Dibden, Karen May, Maria Feragalli and Helen Lumley love Walking Football.
Walking Football is “taking off” in Geraldton. It was launched in Seniors Week last year and became a weekly happening in February.
Run every Wednesday, it is an initiative of Football West and the City of Greater Geraldton.
“Walking Football is a leisurely paced game designed to get elderly people active, away from their home, and make them happy,” program co-ordinator Peter Treharne said.
“Benefits can include weight loss, lowered blood pressure, improved mobility and many other undeniable benefits from this increased activity. And it’s a whole lot of fun.”
