Yes we can! Geraldton students show generous spirit

Geraldton Guardian

Champion Bay Senior High School students have donated almost 300 cans and dried food items to Foodbank Geraldton, to help locals who don’t have enough money to buy groceries.

The donations will contribute to the organisation’s Winter Appeal, an annual plea to Geraldton residents to replenish food stocks, which traditionally deplete in winter.

The school’s “can drive” doubled as a competition between teams of students, with each group attempting to win by collecting the most items.

Student services manager Craig Tapper said the 130kg donation was part of students learning how to become leaders and care for their community.
