Zeico Burt Stanley Cameron: 18-year-old granted bail for alleged armed robbery of pensioners’ Wandina home

An 18-year-old accused of being the driver during a break in of a Wandina home where an elderly couple was threatened with a machete has been granted home detention bail. Zeico Burt Stanley Cameron, 18, appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court this week from Greenough Regional Prison charged with aggravated armed robbery, two counts of aggravated home burglary and stealing a motor vehicle. Mr Cameron is accused of being the driver when four co-accused broke into a 76-year-old and 80-year-old’s Wandina home with three co-accused on Sunday, January 28. About $200 was allegedly stolen and detectives say the elderly couple was threatened with a machete. Mr Cameron is also accused of stealing a motorbike from a home in Drummond Cove between Saturday and Sunday. He was granted home detention bail to an address in Rangeway and will be fitted with an ankle monitor. He must comply with random alcohol and drug testing and cannot contact or be around the alleged victims or co-accused. Magistrate Kelly Thompson told Mr Cameron home detention bail was his last opportunity and if he didn’t abide by them, his bail would be revoked. Mr Cameron is next due to appear on May 16 for a committal mention.
