Boilup crash: Tragedy as 42-year-old man dies after rolling and crashing his ute into a tree near Kojonup

A man has died in a single vehicle rollover in Boilup in the Great Southern on Thursday morning, adding to a horror few days on WA roads. The 42-year-old was the driving on Collie-Changerup Road, near the intersection of Anderson Road in Boilup, 30km from the Kojonup townsite. Police said that at about 9.45am for unknown reasons, the man left the road in his Toyota Landcruiser which rolled and crashed into a tree. The driver became trapped in his crashed ute. Two crews from Kojonup Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service freed the man from his vehicle, but he had suffered critical injuries from the crash and died at the scene. The RAC Rescue helicopter was set to fly to the scene, but was stood down before it took off. A road closure is currently in place on Collie-Changerup Road, between Anderson Road and Pollard Road in Boilup due to the crash. Major crash officers are heading to the scene to begin their investigations, the fourth fatal crash in WA in the last 24 hours. It is the second fatal crash in the Great Southern this week, after a 29-year-old man was killed when he crashed his motorbike into a power pole in Albany on Sunday.
