Truck carrying sheep feed rolls over on Albany Highway in Boscabel, closing southbound lane to traffic

A small section of Albany Highway in Boscabel near Kojonup was reduced to one lane of traffic on Wednesday morning after a truck rolled over, spilling its trailer-load of contents across the road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene about 5.50am at the intersection of Albany Highway and Boscabel-Chittinup and Crapella roads, north of Kojonup, after receiving reports of a road crash.

A Kenworth truck towing a trailer of sheep feed had left the road and rolled onto the gravel shoulder, spilling both its cargo and diesel across the road.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said a crew from the Kojonup Volunteer Fire and Rescue Brigade arrived at 6.16am to clean up the spilled diesel.

Crews left at 7.40am and handed the scene over to police, who will determine the cause of the accident.

Main Roads crews are cleaning up the spilled sheep feed.

The driver of the truck was uninjured in the crash.

Albany Highway’s southbound lane in Boscabel remains closed, with Main Roads requesting drivers exercise “extreme caution” while travelling through the area.
