Better health coaching service: Free service helping West Aussies kick bad habits and make lifestyle changes
West Aussies looking to turn their health around are being urged to access a free service to help address preventable but prevalent health challenges.
The Better Health Coaching Service is a Government funded program providing free, one-on-one support to adults that are looking to turn their health around.
The service, provided by the Better Health Company, can be tailored to fit the individuals needs — from losing weight, managing stress, kicking a bad smoking habit, reducing alcohol intake, improving their diet or fitness — to help West Aussies make lasting lifestyle changes.
Patients who take advantage of the free service will have access to up to 10 free phone appointments with a qualified health professional.
“During my few months on the Better Health Coaching Service, it was an amazing experience,” one participant said.
“I had someone who cared, understood my challenges, and helped me work through things I’d found difficult in the past.
“My health and lifestyle have had a really positive change, and I feel more confident in my ability to take care of my health and wellbeing.”
With more than one in three adults in WA being classed as overweight (37.7 per cent), and a further 37.9 per cent living with obesity —according to the West Australia Department of Health’s 2022 report of Health and Wellbeing of Adults in West Australia — the program aims to help prevent the preventable.
The service is free for eligible West Aussies aged 18 and over. For more information or to sign up, visit the Better Health Coaching website or contact 1300 822 953.
