Great Boulder Cricket Club stalwart Shane Robbins was appointed president for the 2026-27 season at Thursday night’s annual general meeting.
Robbins is one of the local game’s most well-known and popular figures, who last season was honoured for 30 years’ service by the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association with life membership.
He had moved to the region from Bunbury in 1996 to join Railways in the Goldfields Football League but was snapped up in the first week by Dean Jerrard and Todd Altus to play for Great Boulder that turned into 11 seasons.
It was a brilliant partnership that earned him a premiership, three Jerrard Medals, the 1997-98 O’Shaughnessy Medal as the EGCA’s leading player, and club life membership.
Also on Thursday night, Dylan Hinchliffe accepted the vice-president’s role, with Nathan Weir and Jake Basire on board as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Daniel Tebble is junior co-ordinator, with Tony Thomsen, Pete McKenzie and Clint Hoare appointed to the committee.
The Two Blues last season swept the EGCA’s A-grade and B-grade premierships.
