Perennial leading trainer Peter Fernie hopes to build on the three winners he landed at the season-opener on Good Friday when he rolls out 16 runners across all seven events on Saturday at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club.

Fernie’s packed card features a trio of runners in three events, including the $24,000 Goldfields Pest Control Handicap (1100m).

They include Time Scale which has drawn barrier one and on Friday was installed the $3.90 favourite on TABtouch.

The Fernie-trained Talk It Up ($4.20) will carry a topweight of 59kg from Trevor Tasker’s Magniforce (58.5kg).

Dunbar ($8) is Fernie’s other runner and Lisa Staples takes the ride on Joanne Offen-trained Blazing Passion ($4.80).

Esperance trainer Helen Harding has two chances in the $24,000 Coolgardie Rodeo Handicap (1400m) — Deel Red ($17) and Shoot Ur Shot ($12).

But both are facing tough opposition from the likes of the Chris Willis-trained Fleur Delacour ($2.35 favourite), Fernie’s It’s A Lance ($3.20) and Pretty Devine for trainer Mack Hall ($3.90).

Race one is at 12.57pm.
